Local Writers and Storytellers

Are you an NWT storyteller, an established or emerging writer? Do you have a new book on the way? Are you interested in facilitating a workshop or participating in a panel discussion or a reading?
We’re accepting submissions for our 2024 Writers Festival, which takes place Thursday, May 29 to Sunday, June 1 in Yellowknife.

National Authors
If you are interested in taking part in the 20th annual NorthWords NWT Writers Festival in May/June 2025, pitches will be accepted and reviewed from July 2024 to January 2025. Please send us a detailed synopsis of your book, links to your website and social media presence, as well as any media coverage of your work. Upon reviewing your submission, we may also request a digital copy of your book.
We have on average six spots for non-local authors so if you have not from us in regards to your submission, please try to pitch us for another edition of the festival in the future.
