Local Writers and Storytellers
Deadline end of March 2026 for the 2026 NorthWords NWT Writers Festival, taking place Thursday May 28-Sunday May 31, 2026.
Are you an NWT storyteller, an established or emerging writer? Do you have a new book on the way? Are you interested in facilitating a workshop or participating in a panel discussion or a reading?
We are inviting local writers and storytellers representing all genres and styles to submit an expression of interest via a Google Form to be released in early 2026.
National Authors
If you are interested in taking part in the 2026 NorthWords NWT Writers Festival from Thursday May 28-Sunday May 31, 2026, pitches will be accepted and reviewed from July 2025 to January 2026. Please send us a detailed synopsis of your book, links to your website and social media presence, as well as any media coverage of your work. Upon reviewing your submission, we may also request a digital copy of your book.
We have on average six spots for non-local authors so if you have not from us in regards to your submission, please try to pitch us for another edition of the festival in the future.
Author Selection Criteria:
- Recently published
- Published more than one book; ideally published in multiple genres
- Good public speaker
- Currently resides in Canada.
