A groundbreaker in sports broadcasting, Lisa Bowes is an award-winning journalist and education consultant based in Calgary. Over her 30 year career in sports media, Ms.Bowes has worked for TSN, CTV, Fox Sports, the NCAA and the CBC during which time she was named a Canadian Screen Award Nominee for Best Writing in an Information Program or Series. A Physical Education graduate from Western University, she is also a passionate advocate for youth physical activity and reading literacy. Following the Vancouver Olympic Games, where she covered women’s hockey, Ms. Bowes began work on the best selling “Lucy Tries Sports” book series which encourages all children to be active and persevere. With the release of “Lucy Tries Baseball" there are now 6 books in the series which have been translated into French, Spanish & Simplified Chinese.
