Esi Edugyan is the award-winning author of 3 novels, including Half-Blood Blues, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and won the Giller Prize, and Washington Black, which was also shortlisted for the Booker Prize and won the Giller Prize. Washington Black was selected by the New York Times as one of its 10 Best Books of the Year, was on Barack Obama's Best of the Year list, and has been turned into a limited series by Disney/Hulu, which will air this year. Her most recent books are Out of the Sun, the CBC Massey Lecture, and Garden of Lost Socks, a picture book for children. She lives in Victoria, BC.
