NorthWords Writers Festival is offering a fantastic opportunity for all NWT writers. Literary agent Marilyn Biderman of the Transatlantic Agency will be attending this year’s writers festival and is offering to work with six writers while she is here.
Criteria are as follows:
- She will read up to twenty pages of a polished manuscript (i.e. final draft, ready to submit to publishers) and give notes on that material, at the level of both substantive edit and a line edit.
- The six authors will be chosen by NorthWords on April 20 in a random draw.
- Anyone wishing to enter the draw must be a member of NorthWords. Memberships ($10) are available at the Book Cellar in Yellowknife or through board members Patti Kay Hamilton in Fort Smith and Nancy Makepeace in Hay River.
- The six chosen manuscripts must be emailed to NorthWords on April 22 to be forwarded to Marilyn Biderman in Toronto.
- She will return the marked-up drafts back to the writers before meeting with them at the festival (video conferencing will be available).
- She will meet with each writer for 30 minutes to discuss the manuscript.
- A fee of $30 will be charged for manuscript review and interview .
