NWT writers festival application

NorthWords NWT is seeking NWT writers and storytellers
who are interested in participating in the
12th Annual NorthWords Writers Festival

Are you a seasoned published writer with new books (2016-2017) or recent magazine articles, a self-published writer, a new writer with a manuscript in the works, a storyteller, or literary performer? Are you interested in participating in the festival this year alongside our guest authors? We’d love to hear from you. Fill out the expression of interest form below and send it to us before the end of March 2017.

The 2017 festival will take place in Yellowknife and surrounding communities and in Hay River. We would like to host 3 or 4 writers living and writing outside of Yellowknife this year, so if you’re living outside of Yellowknife, be sure to let us know.

We will be in touch with everyone who submits by April 15.

The theme of the festival this year is Reconciliation: Honoring the past, looking to the future. We are looking for a diversity of voices and perspectives on this theme (personal, social, cultural, political) but your published or unpublished work does not have to address this theme directly.

What type of writing do you do? Select all that apply.*
List any published works, including self-published, through a publishing house, stand alone book, anthologies or collections, stories or articles published in print or online magazines/journals. Provide online links where possible.
In 500 words tell us why you would like to be an author in the 2017 NorthWords Festival.*
